Oops!
A Yellow Oops Sticker indicates inappropriate materials in your recycling. Items like clothing, dirty diapers, and food scraps can lead to rejection and end up as landfill waste. The sticker specifies the rejection reason.
Such items may be recyclable but don’t suit our process. Only certain items are accepted at Asheville’s Material Recovery Facility. Improper items disrupt sorting and become landfill waste.
To avoid this, understand why an item was rejected and prepare your recycling properly. Check the acceptable items list or call 828-252-2532 for clarification.
What if my recyclables were not collected?
Occasionally there are delays in our pickups. We may still be by to pick them up later than normal. Unfortunately, however, recycling containers are sometimes missed for collection. If this is the case, please contact Curbside Management at 828-252-2532. Remember, all recycling containers are to be placed out for collection by 7:00 am on the regular collection day.
